On Friday night, an electrical fire occurred at the Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia, resulting in a widespread power outage. The incident happened at around 7 p.m. on Baldwin Avenue, and some workers were left stranded inside their stores, as shown in video footage obtained by Eyewitness News.

One Michael Kors sales associate reported that the phones weren’t working and observed other employees leaving the mall during the outage. In addition, traffic lights in the vicinity were impacted, causing significant traffic congestion for those who were forced to evacuate.

The extent of the damage caused by the fire was not immediately disclosed, but crews were on the scene late Friday night to reopen the mall for Saturday morning shoppers.
